1. Who We Are
I Ching Tree is operated by an independent individual business owner. In this Privacy Policy, “I Ching Tree,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the I Ching Tree website and reading services.
I Ching Tree is responsible for personal information it processes directly. Creem processes checkout and payment information in its role as merchant of record and contractual seller for paid transactions.
2. Scope of This Policy
This policy applies when you visit our website, create or use an account, request a free I Ching reading, purchase or receive a Personal BaZi Reading, contact support, or otherwise communicate with us.
Creem’s checkout, invoices, receipts, and customer portal are also governed by Creem’s Privacy Notice and applicable buyer terms.
3. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the service, we may collect:
- Account and contact information: your name, email address, account identifier, login and verification status, and communications preferences.
- Free-reading information: the two numbers you choose, your question, lost-item details when relevant, and the reading prepared in response.
- Personal BaZi Reading information: your date of birth, exact local time of birth, city and country of birth, selected focus area, relationship status when relevant, and other information you choose to provide for the reading.
- Order and transaction information: product purchased, price, currency, order status, transaction identifiers, payment status, invoice information, and refund or dispute status. Creem collects and processes payment-card and billing information. We do not store complete payment-card numbers on our servers.

- Technical and usage information: IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, referral information, security events, and basic interaction data.
- Cookies and similar technologies: information stored or accessed to keep the site secure, maintain sessions, remember preferences, and, where enabled, understand site performance.
Please do not include unnecessary information about another person or highly sensitive information that is not needed for your reading.
4. How We Collect Information
We collect information:
- Directly from you when you submit a form, create an account, complete a purchase, or contact us.
- Automatically through our website, logs, cookies, and security tools.
- From Creem when it confirms a payment, refund, chargeback, invoice, or related transaction event.
- From service providers acting on our behalf, such as authentication, email-delivery, hosting, storage, security, and support providers.
5. How and Why We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Create and secure accounts and verify access.
- Receive, prepare, deliver, and support free I Ching readings and paid Personal BaZi Readings.
- Confirm orders, coordinate delivery, and respond to refund or payment questions.
- Provide the clarification email included with a Personal BaZi Reading.
- Send account, security, delivery, receipt, and support communications.
- Enforce service limits, prevent duplicate or abusive requests, and protect users and the service.
- Diagnose errors, maintain reliability, and improve website usability.
- Keep business, transaction, and compliance records required by law.
- Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract or steps requested before a contract, consent where required, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, supporting, and improving the service.
6. Payments and Creem
Paid transactions are processed by Creem as merchant of record. Creem may collect your name, email address, billing address, tax information, payment details, and other information needed to process payment, calculate and remit applicable taxes, issue invoices, prevent fraud, manage refunds and chargebacks, and provide its customer portal.
Creem processes this information under its own legal terms and privacy notice. We receive only the transaction and customer information reasonably needed to identify the order, deliver the purchased service, provide support, and maintain required records.
7. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information only as reasonably necessary:
- To Creem for checkout, payment, invoicing, tax, fraud-prevention, refund, and chargeback functions.
- To providers that support hosting, authentication, email delivery, storage, security, analytics, and customer support.
- To professional advisers or authorities when required to comply with law, enforce our terms, protect rights and safety, or respond to a valid legal request.
- In connection with a reorganization, transfer, or sale of the service, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal protections.
Providers may use information only for the contracted purpose or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.
8. International Processing
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use contractual or other legally recognized safeguards for international transfers. Creem’s international processing is described in its own privacy notice.
9. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Retention depends on the type of information, the status of your account or reading, support and delivery needs, fraud-prevention needs, legal limitation periods, and tax, accounting, payment, and record-keeping obligations.
When information is no longer required, we delete it or take reasonable steps to anonymize it, unless continued retention is required or permitted by law. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten.
10. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use essential cookies or local storage to maintain sessions, preserve security, remember language or interface preferences, and keep submitted information available during sign-in. Optional analytics or similar technologies, if enabled, are used only in accordance with applicable notice and consent requirements.
You can control cookies through your browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent account, form, or sign-in functions from working correctly.
11. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, loss, or misuse. No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for using a secure password and protecting access to your email and account.
12. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion or restriction of processing.
- Object to certain processing or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
- Request a portable copy of eligible information.
- Lodge a complaint with an applicable data-protection authority.
To make a request, email hello@ichingtree.com from the email address associated with your account or purchase. We may need to verify your identity. Some information may be retained where required for transactions, fraud prevention, legal claims, or other legal obligations.
For payment information controlled by Creem, you may also use the Creem Customer Portal or contact Creem directly.
13. Adults Only
The service is intended only for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly offer readings to or collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
14. Third-Party Information
If you submit information about another person, you are responsible for having a lawful reason to provide it. Do not use the service to investigate, expose, or verify another person’s private communications, location, medical information, or other confidential behavior.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the service, providers, or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date will show when the policy was revised. Where required, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
